The Lead Architect brings their design talents and organizational skills to bear on their assigned projects. This position serves as a role model and mentor to the architectural support staff and participates in activities to aid in design, improve the quality of our projects and the processes and procedures used during the documentation, and construction administration activities of a project. They shall also be actively involved in the marketing and business development activities of the company and develop strong relationships with our clients, contractors, and consultants to foster positive relationships.
Responsibilities
Perform all aspects of architectural design, including conceptual studies, programming, schematic documents, design development documents, and construction documents.
Develop strong relationships within the firm and with our clients. This includes working side-by-side in a team environment with our Managing Principals, Project Managers, Architects, Interior Designers, and Emerging Professionals on active production.
Responsible for overall client satisfaction, design quality and profitability of all projects undertaken that contribute to the firm's strategic priorities.
Promote and foster collaboration and engagement with all team members.
Manage, direct and mentor Project Managers, Architects, and junior staff.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or master’s degree in Architecture from a NAAB-accredited university.
7+ years of design experience is preferred.
Proficiency in AutoCad and Revit.
Experience with graphics software such as SketchUp, Lumion, or Photoshop is preferred.
Technical production skills are necessary and require a demonstrated ability to effectively produce design and construction documents.
Understanding of relevant codes such as state and national building codes, ANSI 117.1, BOMA.
Strong organization, multi-tasking, and time management skills.
Strong design, graphic, and presentation skills.
Excellent communication skills and a strong team ethic.
Ability to interact professionally with office leadership, support staff, and clients.
Ability to direct and motivate work efforts of others and handle stressful situations.
Ability to self-manage and mange others for multiple project assignments from start to finish.
